"Welcome to Death Valley"Award-winning, Louisiana native and wildlife artist Randy Caminita has just expanded his artistic portfolio to add something new. Randy has created a piece of artwork especially for LSU Tiger fans everywhere. A devoted LSU fan himself, Randy is excited to present his newest work entitled "Welcome to Death Valley." Randy's piece is an officially licensed Collegiate Product and is an officially licensed product of Louisiana State University. This new piece is an acrylic based painting that captures the gigantic costumed mascot "Mike the Tiger" in larger than life form stepping out of Tiger Stadium with his arms spread wide open peering upward at the almighty "EYE OF THE TIGER" in the night sky above. LSU fans across the land know there is nothing more electrifying in college football than going to LSU's Tiger Stadium and hearing the words "It's Saturday Night in Death Valley... and here come your Fighting Tigers of LSU!" from the public address announcer as the Tigers take the field.
Randy used Mike the Tiger as an artistic expression to represent the fans of LSU in their nighttime glory, exuding an overwhelmingly loud energy known far and wide to spill out of Tiger Stadium every Saturday night during college football season. This pride is welcoming all to the greatest college atmosphere one could imagine as well as challenging all LSU opponents to enter the arena and face the 2003 and 2007 National Champions. The eye of the tiger represents the fierce grit and tenacity in which the LSU team faces an opponent. The eye also represents the loyalty and reverence with which LSU fans watch over their beloved "FIGHTING TIGERS". When deciding to paint an LSU piece, Randy researched his options and found very little artwork that depicted the costumed mascot. "Anyone that follows LSU Tiger athletics knows an event is not complete without the antics of Mike the Tiger. Young or old, Mike is a favorite of all. When Mike is around, fans can't help but want to be with him. "He's the 'Ultimate Party Animal' of team spirit and fun." Randy says. Looking back to the beginning of his work on the piece, Randy reflects, "When I started this piece I wanted to do something different that had never been done before. I realized that I had not really seen Mike depicted as a main or featured subject while researching LSU artwork. I feel he is due his time in the spotlight. Sure, there are caricatures and animated drawings but none that really put Mike as the focus in fine art form. So TIGER FANS... Here he is!" "I hope you will enjoy my new piece as much as I enjoyed creating it for what I think are the GREATEST COLLEGE FANS WHO KNOW HOW HAVE THE BEST TIME WITH SUCH A WINNING TRADIDTION IN ALL THAT IT DOES!!! Randy is offering "Welcome to Death Valley" in these different ways; Paper Reproductions
